Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Project Manager for the RBHS Office of Clinical Affairs.
The Project Manager is responsible for projects relating to clinical strategy and operations, health affairs and health education. This position requires an advanced skill set in project management and experience in organizational change management in order to balance multiple projects, including some that are complex, multi-year phased initiatives. The position handles highly confidential and sensitive information daily.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Is responsible for the strategic planning, thought leadership, and execution and administration of all aspects of diverse projects from ideation to completion, relating to clinical strategy and operations, health affairs and health education.
Formulates and communicates project objectives, budget, other resource requirements and timelines, including the development of project milestones, dependencies, review points, critical paths and associated risks.
Maintains a detailed schedule of all projects, coordinates assignments and necessary follow-up and closely monitors deadlines.
Coordinates with and utilizes internal and external subject matter experts.
Creates necessary dashboards, Gantt charts and other tools to efficiently communicate project scope and progress to broad audiences including senior leadership and internal/external constituents.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in health sciences, health care policy, or a related field.
A minimum of five (5) years of successful progressive project management experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to effectuate change management in a large complex setting.
Proven track record and experience in the management of large and complex projects requiring the collection, review, and evaluation of business processes.
Must meet project deadlines.
Must be able to manage multiple program rollouts at the same time and to balance competing priorities.
Must demonstrate individual initiative to drive projects through to completion.
Must possess excellent oral, written, presentation, and customer service skills.
Must have the ability to make independent recommendations.
Must be able to absorb and process large quantities of disparate information and synthesize quickly.
Proficiency at using Microsoft’s suite of office products and project management software such as Asana, Microsoft Project and/or Smartsheet and must be adept with PowerPoint presentations and Excel.
Past work experience in an academic environment, medical school, or a highly complex organization such as an academic medical center/teaching hospital strongly is strongly preferred.
