The Spalding University Counseling and Psychological Services Center (CaPS) is pleased to offer a 12-month Post-Doctoral Psychology Fellowship from August 2021 through July 2022. We are seeking a team-oriented generalist with strong clinical skills ready to meet the increasing severity of college students' mental health needs. Demonstrated experience working with underrepresented student populations, a commitment to social justice, as well as competencies in brief treatment, crisis management, group interventions, assessment, and the provision of supervision are preferred.
This non-exempt, full time position is housed within Spalding University’s CaPS Center in the Department of Student Development and Campus Life. The fellowship includes a range of responsibilities including individual counseling, group counseling, psychological assessment, crisis intervention, triage assessment, consultation with University departments, clinical supervision of doctoral practicum students (primarily assessment supervision), outreach programming, and other special projects as assigned.
The fellow participates as a member of the CaPS Center staff and will be directly supervised by the CaPS Center Director. The fellow will receive a minimum of an hour of weekly individual face-to-face supervision and one to two hours of group supervision/didactics in weekly case conference meetings. The fellow will also have 1-2 additional hours per week to focus on professional development (e.g. independent study, webinars, article reviews, EPPP prep, and seminars/workshops in the community).
To be fully considered for the position, applicants must have:
Competence in generalist practice, including multiculturalism, brief psychotherapy, psychological assessment, and crisis intervention.
Completed all requirements for doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from APA-accredited graduate program. Dissertation should be defended by start date.
Completed a full time, 12-month pre-doctoral internship.
Licensed or eligible for temporary licensure as a psychologist in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Preference for applicants with professional experience, strong assessment skills, and interest working with university and/or young adult population.
