The Technician B for the Department of OBGYN will assist within the laboratory of Dr. Yousin Suh to facilitate aging research studies. The individual will work closely with Principle Investigators and lab members on a variety of research projects focusing on aging research.
Mouse colony maintaining, including but not restricted to breeding set up, weaning, and genotyping.
Maintain a log of mouse census.
Assists with mouse behavioral experiments.
Assists with mouse survival and non-survival surgeries.
Assists with mouse organ collections.
Assists with sample sections and immunohistology staining.
Assists with cell cultures.
Assists with data entry into electronic records.
Requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge of chemistry, biology or physics and various related laboratory procedures and techniques.
Ability to perform work in a neat and orderly manner in accordance with safety regulations
Knowledge of experimental materials arid standardization
Exposure to experimental procedures, laboratory equipment and/or working with animals
Ability to organize experiments in standard form and record data in a scientific notebook
Ability to learn and adapt to new techniques
Familiarity with computerized operations
Prior experience with animal handling is a plus.
Experience in IV, IP, Subcutaneous is preferred.
