Research Support - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Overview: This Temporary Casual Research RN/Research Coordinator role in Neurology encompasses a wide range of skills. This position is expected to be able to perform as back-up coordinator for studies that are enrolling subjects at multiple sites. This coordinator may assist with IRB submissions, maintains Delegation of authority logs, consents and enroll subjects, performs patient assessments, collects and enters data and communicates regularly with Study Pl, Lead Coordinator and clinical care team.
The position is responsible for being cross trained for multiple stroke research studies and will could be tasked with patient enrollments, patient follow up (blinded assessments) and ensuring that data and research visits are in compliance with the protocol
Duties and Responsibilities:
Cross train on screening, enrollment, and follow-up processes for multiple Stroke research studies conducted within the MHealthFairview Hospital System : • Knowledge of each study protocol and departmental resources such as protocols & study documents. • Understand protocol(s) to effectively and appropriately enroll patients within study parameters • Complete sponsor’s requirements for studies: (protocol training, data entry, etc.) in a timely manner. • Attain and maintain certification in study-specific assessments and protocols and named on Delegation of Authority log. • Proficient in consent process and documentation (including EFIC consent processes). • Accurately enter data for randomization process and Case Report Form entry. • Learn and access resources at each site to assist as needed (Emergency Department, Neurology, Surgery, pharmacy, lab, and nursing). • Occasional participation in telephone conferences or webinars. • Recruit and screen subjects for inpatient or outpatient studies in collaboration with the lead coordinator and PI • Meet departmental and sponsor standards/expectations for data entry, accuracy and decision making.

Required Qualifications: • BS degree in nursing with at least 2 years of full time experience in a hospital inpatient setting or a combination of related education and work experience to equal six years • Registered Nurse • Ability to work flexible hours when needed to complete time sensitive research tasks. • Demonstrated EPIC or EMR skills • Strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in clinical trials research in the critical care or inpatient neurology setting • Experience with database management or Electronic Data Capture Systems
