The University of the Sciences (USciences) is seeking a dynamic individual to expand our cadre of talented faculty in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. This is a full-time, 12-month non-tenure track faculty position. The successful candidate will join the department as an Associate Director of Clinical Education (ADCE). The candidate will join another ADCE who works under the direction of the Director of Clinical Education (DCE). The Department of Physical Therapy is one of 5 programs housed in the Samson College of Health Sciences: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant, Exercise Physiology, and Health Sciences. The Department of Physical Therapy has 15 core faculty members engaged in a variety of clinical and scholarly activities.

A minimum of a clinical doctorate degree in physical therapy (DPT) is required, with specialty certification preferred, with a minimum of three years of clinical practice post-licensure. Two years of recent experience as a clinical instructor or as a Site Coordinator of Clinical Education is preferred. The candidate should also have experience in an academic environment, inclusive of a record of excellence in teaching, previous administrative responsibilities, and a history of service to the profession.
Excellent organizational, technological, and communication skills are required for this position to enhance the continued growth of the clinical education program at USciences. Responsibilities of the ADCE include assisting the DCE with the development, improvement, and assessment of the clinical education component of the curriculum, facilitating quality learning experiences for students during clinical education, evaluating students' performance in the clinic, educating students, faculty, and the University community about clinical education. The ADCE will assist with selecting clinical learning environments that demonstrate characteristics of sound patient/client management, ethical and professional behavior, and currency with physical therapy practice and assist in the placement of students in rotations. The ADCE will be responsible for teaching in the DPT program, participating in scholarship/research, and providing service to the University, College, and Department.
The ADCE will report to the DCE and the Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy. The candidate must have, or be eligible to obtain, physical therapy licensure in the State of Pennsylvania. The position is a 12-month non-tenure track appointment with academic rank and salary commensurate with experience.
