UWM FINANCE TRANSFORMATION is seeking a a Limited Term Appointment - ERP BUSINESS ANALYST (BA). The ERP BUSINESS ANALYST - UWM FINANCE TRANSFORMATION will work in partnership with the Design PM and Accounting/Finance subject matter experts to evaluate source GL accounts for translation to the new Workday Foundation Data Model (FDM) and assist in development of the new Workday data model.
UW MEDICINE FINANCE TRANSFORMATION will fundamentally change the processes and tools that the University employs to track, spend, collect, manage, and report University finances in excess of $7B in annual revenues, resulting in more timely and actionable information for leadership. Among the UW’s highest administrative priorities, this multi-year initiative is one of the largest finance system programs in Washington State and the outcome of the program will be highly visible at all levels of the University, the State, and nationally in higher education.
The UW has an existing Workday platform, utilizing the HCM/Payroll/Benefits modules. This includes a backend infrastructure around security, access, and report development. The UWFT program will be responsible for implementing new financial modules that need to be integrated into the existing platform and will also need to include significant new functionality for finance. The new modules are scheduled to go live on July 1, 2023.
The migration from multiple ERP systems to a single modern integrated ERP system combined with defining and executing large scale change to achieve the University’s transformation and efficiency goals is a large and complex initiative. Execution of the UWFT program will require UW Medicine’s accounting, finance, and supply chain staff, management, and leadership to manage both a high level of change while continuing to meet the operational needs of UW’s nationally recognized clinical and research healthcare facilities. The successful candidate will need to work with UW Medicine program management to help UWFT participants balance project and operational needs and assist with change management efforts as needed. The successful candidate will support UW Medicine Accounting operations to support the UWFT initiative with minimal disruption to the service or quality by supporting business process redevelopment. The resource will provide guidance and support to operational subject matter experts as part of this large program. This includes but is not limited to supporting business process design, issue / risk communication and scalation, supporting development of recommended solutions, and collaborating on analytic tasks and execution.
Document as-is processes, policies, accounting treatments, and reporting needs
Define and document future state requirements
Help manage requirements through their lifecycle
Facilitate working sessions with a wide range of stakeholders, subject matter experts, and project staff
Provide functional requirements and design support for UW Medicine systems integration, data conversion, and reporting teams
Assist on future state process design
Assist with development of test cases
Help manage test execution and track agreed to design changes
Act as a subject matter expert through the build and prep for go-live phases
Support Workday go-live
Provide support during the transition to operations phase
Help identify, assess, document, and manage issues and risks through their lifecycle
Provide work effort estimates to help project managers build and maintain project plans
Provide timely status of all assigned work efforts
Be a proactive member of the program team to help achieve the highest level of program efficiency and execution quality
Assist in assessing and documenting change impacts
Assist in the development and execution of change management plans
Support UW Medicine operations staff through the change
Minimum of four years' experience performing complex work in business analysis
Experience designing, developing, optimizing, or analyzing chart of accounts
Experience implementing new tools and processes with Accounting and Finance teams
Experience working with a wide range of data collection, analysis, and visualization tools
Demonstrated collaboration skills with colleagues at all levels and across different organizations
Demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Experience facilitating meetings, constructively addressing input and criticism, and resolving conflicts
Ability to present complex technical material to non-technical audiences in an approachable way
Ability to understand and communicate business relevance to management / leadership teams
Experience working in a healthcare or academic medical center environment
Specific project experience with Workday or other ERP system implementations as a business or system analyst
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position will be remote until UW Medicine provides approval for staff to work onsite. When restrictions are lifted, this position will be based onsite at the University of Washington Tower, 4333 Brooklyn Ave NE, Seattle and may travel to other UW Medicine locations as required.
