The Computing Account Specialist contributes to high-quality direct customer service, and provides technical support within the Accounts & Passwords team in the Brown University IT Service Center. This is a primary role in ensuring the safety and security of Brownâ™s information, supporting University customers of critical systems and services, and protecting systems from unauthorized access.
Primary responsibilities include:
Interact with customers and execute requests for creation, modification and deletion of electronic services and administrative accounts
Execute established processes to administer identity and access information and changes
Consistently apply and enforce all relevant electronic IT security and access policies and standard procedures
Perform routine and ad hoc audits of service records to validate that only appropriate personnel have privileged permissions in tracked services
Provide cross-functional coverage for other support responsibilities in the IT Service Center
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum of 1 year of experience providing technical support in a complex environment
Experience supporting Enterprise identity and access systems such as Oracle Identity Manager, MACE Grouper, SAML/Shibboleth, Duo two-factor authentication, Google Groups, and Active Directory/ADFS
Knowledge of SSL/TLS certificates and provisioning processes
Experience supporting desktop computing including Mac, Windows, Android and iOS operating systems and common applications
Experience supporting Enterprise and/or Higher-Ed systems such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office 365/OneDrive, Zoom, service desk systems, learning management systems, storage, printing, etc.
Proven ability to problem-solve, understand and troubleshoot high-level technical issues
Excellent customer service, communication, and follow-up skills

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to balance multiple competing priorities, tasks, and projects
Demonstrated ability to work independently, as part of a team, and in collaboration with other teams
