In support of Brownâ™s liberal arts curriculum and University mission, this position contributes to University efforts to improve support for student initiatives and co-curricular programs and to build a sense of community.Â The Administrative Coordinator for Student Activities facilitates the success of the Student Activities Office and Campus Center by providing critical management of systems, processes, and administrative functions.Â The Administrative Coordinator is responsible for the management of student group information through the BearLink and google systems, the event registration system (inclusive of security and facilities orders) and student group communications as well as the student activities website. This position coordinates all communication for the main office including email and phone calls.Â In addition, this position will hire, train, and supervise the student staff in the main office and manage student hiring and student payroll processing for the department.
Management of Student Activities (SAO) Main Office (40%)
Coordinate Event Registration Process (30%)
Administrative support for the office and SAO team Â (20%)
Coordinate Student Hiring and Payroll (10%)
Associates degree and 2-4 years administrative office experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience, interest, and commitment to working with people from diverse racial, socioeconomic, and other backgrounds and ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with diverse faculty, students and administrators.
Fluency with computers and various applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google office applications, web editing platforms, etc.).
Excellent organizational and communication skills to be able to organize, prioritize, and follow through on complex, multi-deadline projects.
Demonstrated editing and writing ability.
Customer-focused, customer service oriented.
Experience with event planning and scheduling.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and to working with a diverse campus community.
Experience supervising student workers preferred.
