Metropolitan State University, Minnesota’s public, urban university, and recipient of the 2019 Insight Into Diversity Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award is seeking to hire an Associate Director of Placement & Testing Center.This is a full-time, probationary position within the Student Success unit of the Academic and Student Affairs Division.

Administration of the assessment for college readiness program for the university
Administration of academic testing for the university
Lead the Testing Center employees
Manage departmental budgets and annual work plans
Provide support to department course offering decision-making process
Participate in university events to support student enrollment
The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for the position:
Master’s degree in Educational Administration, Counseling, Social Work, Education or related areas or bachelor’s degree plus 4 years’ experience in full-time placement/assessment program administration
3 or more years’ full-time placement/assessment program administration and evaluation in a post-secondary educational setting
3 years’ supervisory experience, including management of administrative staff and budget and coordination of projects with internal and external stakeholders
3 years’ experience with testing applications such as Accuplacer, ATITEAS, DSST
Advanced knowledge of practices, policies, procedures, and protocols for course placement
Knowledge of academic testing practices, policies, procedures, and protocols
Demonstrated experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
Experience with college or university-level teaching and/or knowledge of college or university-level curriculum
Knowledge and expertise in curricular design and policy making in higher education
Knowledge and experience with evaluation and database management, and with course work in related fields (English, writing, reading, and/or math) to support administrative decision-making and planning needs
Demonstrated experience in managing difficult situations involving students, parents, staff, faculty, and community members
Knowledge of multiple measures course placement (MMCP) framework
Knowledge of Minnesota State’s Integrated Student Record System (ISRS)
Demonstrated knowledge of National College Testing Association best practices for Testing Centers
Physical Requirements of the Job: This requires occasionally lifting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others and/or lifting and carrying light objects frequently. Even though the weights being lifted may only be a negligible amount, a job is in this category may require walking or standing to a significant degree or may involve sitting most of the time with a degree of pushing and pulling of arm and/or leg controls.
Must be available to work routine evening hours and occasional weekend hours. Requires occasionally transporting such articles as file folders, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves maintaining a stationary position for long periods of time, a certain amount of movement is often necessary in carrying out job duties.

Salary: This is a Minnesota State University Association of Administrative and Service Faculty (MSUAASF) Range D position with a salary range of $51,311 (minimum) to $94,744 (maximum). Salary is commensurate with education and experience, and is determined by the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (Minnesota State) and the MSUAASF organization.
