The Business Intelligence Developer works with subject matter experts from all areas across the University, including but not limited to: Academic Affairs; Business, Finance, and Administration; Advancement; Enrollment and the Student Experience; IVMF; Human Resources, and the University’s schools and colleges. This work includes integration of data driven business processes, development of data interfaces, critical tactical and strategic analytical activities, data security and access, as well as development of in-depth dashboards and reports.
The Business Intelligence Developer performs development (coding), analysis (troubleshooting), and production support, and provides overall expertise in the area of data warehouse and reporting applications. The duties include maintaining and enhancing data warehouse structures for all Syracuse University enterprise data warehouses, the ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) integration between most all enterprise source systems and structures, and providing production support (including after normal working hours), as well as developing reports and dashboards (MyReports). The current ETL tool used for this development and integration is IBM DataStage.
