The Barnes Center at The Arch is Syracuse University’s integrated health and wellness center which incorporates counseling, health, health promotion and recreation. The Native/Indigenous healer is a 12 month, part-time position that supports student’s mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health through the use of traditional healing practices. Specific duties include creation of spaces and places for healing, cultural knowledge exchange, providing opportunities for spiritual connection, and leading ceremony. The Native/Indigenous healer will spend part of their time working from the Barnes Center and will spend part of their time within the campus community, including working with students in the Native Student Program.
