Keene State College invites applications for a Sexual Misconduct and Bias Investigator. The Investigator will support the Sexual Misconduct and Bias Coordinator and Associate Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion in creating a safe and respectful environment with the primary responsibility of investigating instances of sexual and gender-based harassment and misconduct, and the secondary responsibility of investigating harassment and bias based on other social identities (race, ability, class, religion, sexual orientation, etc.) The successful candidate will serve in a visible key leadership role and will be responsible for investigating and ensuring the lawful disposition of all Title IX and/or sexual misconduct reports, and reports of Discriminatory Harassment based on other social identities involving undergraduate and graduate students, as well as faculty and staff. The investigator will work with College stakeholders such as the offices of the Dean of Students, Multicultural Student Support and Success, Disability Services, and Conduct, as well as, students, faculty, and staff.
Bachelor's degree and two years of progressively responsible experience in conducting investigations and in complaint and grievance resolution (preference will be given to applicants with five or more years of applicable experience); demonstrated knowledge and the ability to interpret federal, state, and local equal opportunity and non-discrimination laws and regulations including Title IX, FERPA, Violence Against Women Act, and other applicable laws and regulations as required; strong organizational, planning, analytic, and problem resolution abilities; excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to remain neutral; demonstrated knowledge of complexities surrounding sexual assault, sexual harassment, relationship violence, and sexual misconduct cases in a university or college setting as well as other forms of harassment based on other social identities; proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; demonstrated ability to meet sensitive timelines, use discretion and good judgment, maintain a high level of confidentiality, and work collaboratively with diverse constituencies including students, faculty, staff, administrators, and community partners; and ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
