The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Princeton University invites applications for a postdoctoral or more senior research position starting February 2021 or later. A Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Chemical and Biological Engineering, Statistics and Machine Learning, Applied and Computational Mathematics, Computational and Mathematical Engineering, or a related area is required. This research position is joint between the Computational Turbulent Reacting Flow Laboratory (CTRFL) led by Prof. Michael E. Mueller and the Multiphase Flow Group led by Prof. Sankaran Sundaresan. The specific project will develop data-based models for multiphase reacting flows relevant to energy systems. A candidate for this position is sought with previous experience and expertise in data-based modeling and computational modeling of multiphase and/or reacting flows. The candidate will also have the opportunity to work with graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in the research groups toward broader development of data-based modeling tools applied to a range of multi-physics flows as opportunities arise. The appointment is for one year, renewable annually based on satisfactory performance and available funding. This appointment is subject to the University's background check policy.Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Applicants must apply online and submit their vitae (including a list of publications and presentations), a narrative summary of research accomplishments and research interests, and the names and contact information of at least three potential references to https://www.princeton.edu/acad-positions/position/18781.Princeton University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
