CURRICULUM DEVELOPER , Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL)- MIT App Inventor Team, to play a crucial role on the MIT App Inventor team. The team builds, supports, and performs educational outreach and research on the MIT App Inventor platform specifically, and computer science education more generally. Will become a vital member of a team supporting, designing, developing, and/or publishing course materials and related content; develop curriculum using MIT App Inventor (and Scratch); collaborate on developing educational materials on use the of MITApp Inventor; collaborate on coordinating logistics for forums/training workshops/talks/events/etc.; develop/create identity and collateral materials; format and edit content of presentations/proposals/websites/etc.; assist with educational research using qualitative and quantitative methods; create processes/reports to track operational efficiency; and perform other duties as requested.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in education, computer science, or related area; five years' relevant work experience; computer science/education experience; interest in learning more about computer science, education, educational technology, and/or K-20 education; familiarity with MIT App Inventor and Scratch; strong problem-solving, time-management, decision-making, organizational, interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and oral and written communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; diplomacy and good judgment; and strong computer skills (including email, spreadsheet, and presentation software) and working knowledge of the internet and social media. Must be able to work proactively and independently, prioritize and manage multiple projects and competing demands, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results; work in a team-based environment across all levels; and transport materials/equipment weighing up to twenty-five pounds. PREFERRED : master's degree in disciplines noted above, experience working with students/teachers on educational technology initiatives, direct experience with MIT App Inventor in an educational context, formal or self-taught computer programming experience, and MIT experience. Must be able to attend evening and/or weekend meetings/events and travel to and present at conferences and other venues on behalf of the MITApp Inventor team.
This is a twelve-month appointment with the possibility of extension.
