The purpose of this position is to provide project administration services to sponsored projects and provide training to lower level project administrators.
Prepares documentation to enter award terms and other financial information into the A&M System accounting and research administration systems which includes budget, revenue, regulations, billing requirements, Facilities and Administrative cost distribution, cost-sharing commitments and reporting requirements. Provides maintenance and administration of sponsored projects.
Approves expenditures and disbursement of funds. Authorizes expenditures and transactions for assigned sponsored projects in compliance with agreement terms and sponsor regulations.
Coordinates with researchers, department heads, deans and other university staff to resolve project issues and provides information as requested.
Provides and coordinates advanced professional level activities relating to sponsored programs; coordinates and performs accounts receivables activities.
Complies award information for budget, compliance regulations, billing requirements, indirect cost distribution and any cost sharing commitments and ensures compliance with any other terms and conditions of the sponsored project.
Handles financial close-out of sponsored
Provides information and training to less experienced project administrators.
Performs other duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
No prior experience required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and proofreading skills.
Applicants with equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor?s degree may be considered. One year of the related experience is the equivalent of one college year. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have four years of related experience to meet the equivalency in lieu of a Bachelor?s degree plus the minimum required years of experience. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have a total of four years of experience.
