The science facilities manager will support the laboratory infrastructure in multiple buildings in the College of Arts and Sciences and act as general liaison with Physical Plant and Campus Planning, Design, and Construction (CPDC) for those buildings. The manager will oversee lab renovations and equipment installation, ranging from technical support for equipment installation through laboratory planning and research liaison during laboratory construction; will act as the contact between researchers and Physical Plant and Environmental Health and Safety Services (EHSS) to ensure continuity of research operations that rely on building services and coordination of safety measures; monitor how building systems support research and teaching; manage the physical equipment inventory and facilitate moving and recycling of equipment; support laboratory decommissioning; and manage facilities coordinator support staff. The manager will establish a process with a team of support employees to provide 24/7 emergency response on a rotating schedule.
