This transformation leader will provide end-to-end process improvement guidance to key business leaders and decision makers. Responsible for serving as a results-oriented, subject matter expert to the leadership of a strategy or business unit to help ensure achievement of UC San Diego Health's operational and service goals. Works with leadership to execute strategies to achieve long and short term objectives. Works to provide business analysis and recommendations that helps the business achieve operational effectiveness and efficiency on transformation initiatives.
Supports cross-functional strategic initiatives and provides subject matter expertise and industry best practices related to business transformation. Facilitates the designs and assessment of work efforts to ensure alignment to business and customer objectives. Processes and synthesizes work outputs across multiple work streams/teams into executive updates, design/prioritization frameworks and business recommendations.
Applies advanced organizational development concepts to perform highly complex technical analysis to understand past performance and determine present and future performance and / or resource allocations. Provides advanced expertise and knowledge to the leadership of a strategy or business unit helping to ensure achievement of UCSD Health's strategies. Develops metrics and cost tracking mechanisms to quantify safety, quality, cost and cash improvementsExercises wide judgment in selecting and developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining appropriate results and resolution of organizational effectiveness issues.Utilizes value stream mapping and various lean tools to select the right blend of kaizen events, projects and just do it's that drive business improvement. Contributes to or guides the development of project work plans by estimating work effort for requirements analysis activity and reporting clear and accurate work status. Understands business needs and ensures that systems, both technical and non-technical, can support those needs.
Facilitates end to end approach for development of key change programs in partnership with senior business leaders. Executes key hypothesis, conducts interviews, gathers data, defines and executes required analyses, identifies issues and problems and recommends approach to address them. Develops and implements a lean management system and ensures that all elements such as standardized processes, problem solving and governance are in place to drive sustainable results. Identify cultural gaps inhibiting the success or mindset transformation needs to achieve a strong Kaizen deployment and culture. In collaboration with leadership, identify prospect talent and work on developing multiple Kaizen subject matter experts (SMEs) to increase Kaizen activity and awareness throughout our workshops. Develop and propose a standardized methodology for identifying internal talent to participate in Kaizens. Assesses complex situations, identifies desired improvements, works with clients to address issues and implement solutions in alignment with strategic goals. Conducts lean assessments and cultural reviews and develops an action plan to address opportunities for improvement.
Develops and executes 3-12 month lean transformation roadmaps. Develops business design and solution requirements and subsequently helps with their prioritization by working with business partners and development teams. Provides collaborative leadership and consultation, strategic planning, design and facilitation, and project management on complex problems to achieve strategically aligned solutions. Benchmarks internally and externally to identify and standardize best practices.
