The Mechanical Engineering Department is seeking applicants for a full-time Administrative Program Support-1 position to support the administrative, educational, and financial functions in the department. Administrative experience and familiarity with financial functions are essential.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the undergraduate educational activities of the department.
Perform and support office administrative duties as needed.
Collaborate with ME faculty and staff to implement effective departmental communications. Write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, internet content, annual reports, and other marketing material that communicates the department's activities.
Schedule conferences and meetings, process reimbursements.
Compile data and prepare statistical reports used to monitor or assess department activities, programs, and services or project future needs.
Assemble and interpret data, prepare administrative reports and handle correspondence for the department head.
Assist with diverse financial tasks, such as student payroll, travel reimbursements, and orders; monitor expenditures.
Review records and data for accuracy, reconcile differences, and work with other staff and university offices to identify errors and make corrections.
Maintain records and prepare necessary reports.
Provide general office support, including answering phones, responding to inquiries, and directing calls.
Perform other duties as may be required.
Associate degree and at least two years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated writing skills for publication in print, web, and other platforms.
Ability to manage office-related financial transactions.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with the ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively.
Bachelor's Degree in a related major with at least 1 year of experience in an office environment.
