The Humanities Division of Jefferson Community and Technical College has an anticipated opening for a full time First-Year Experience Instructor. *This position is contingent upon funding.
This position will be responsible for full-time instruction in the discipline as well as academic advising, course and curriculum development, internal and external community service, professional development, and educational leadership of the coordination of the first-year experience program on all campuses.
Salary based on qualifications and experience.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as education, college student personnel, educational leadership, counseling, and/or business. Preference given to those candidates who have had prior experience teaching first year experience courses. Master's degree is preferred. Position requires two years of teaching experience at the high school or college level. Candidate should have excellent interpersonal, oral, written communication, planning and organizational skills. Knowledge of on-line instructional design and assessment methods desired. Available to work mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends as needed. Candidate should be available to teach at any of the six Jefferson Community & Technical College campuses or online as needed. Experience in, and understanding of the importance of, working with students from diverse backgrounds required.
