Summary of Position:
Use appropriate accounting methods to establish criteria; investigate and develop projections; or analyze a variety of conditions, problems, or questions relative to issues concerning budget and expenditures. In addition, provide responsible independent and complex record keeping and accounting functions for the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and the Division of Student Affairs as a whole. Responsible for data analysis for fiscal and other decision-making.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or closely related field by time of appointment.
Required Work Experience:
Five years demonstrated successful work experience in accounting/analysis and/or related field.

Prepare division and department budget allocations.
Maintain status, analyze and track of all Division of Student Affairs accounts and budget planning processes.
Direct and oversee the compilation and preparation of the Division of Student Affairs' annual operating budget submissions.
Identify strengths and/or weaknesses in budget plan and course(s) of action to be considered to resolve issues.
Identify budget trends and implications of those trends on the Division of Student Affairs's operations.
Perform approvals for expenses, position related changes and technology purchases.
Provide budget recommendations to respond to a wide range of issues.
Develop, formulate, and recommend solutions to address complex issues and concerns that may arise in the area of resource allocations and policies.
Participate in short and long-range fiscal planning and goal setting for the division, and strategic planning projects with university-wide implications.
Develop timelines and procedures relative to divisional fiscal management.
Provide independent complex accounting and record keeping support services for the Division of Student Affairs and assist in training new employees with budgetary responsibilities.
Perform all fiscal year end close transactions by specified required dates.
Utilize various software applications in order to produce reports and other required or requested information.
Research and compile data; analyze reports, records and accounts; make recommendations, monitor and take action as authorized.
Regularly evaluate positions and position budgets and fund accordingly. Track savings and maintain records on divisional FTE's.
Answer inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources, providing explanation and interpretive information on the operations policies, practices, and procedures for the Division of Student Affairs.
Review documents as directed relative to division impact, policies, procedures, guidelines, etc.
Monitor the allocation of specialized accounts including federal, state and institutional funds.
Handle sensitive and confidential matters regularly.
Prepare selected personnel forms and reports as directed. Assist departments with personnel related questions and work as a liaison between the division and human resources.
Attend meetings and/or conferences.
Serve on various committees.
Serve as an advisor to Finance Division of Student Government and balance and maintain funds accordingly.
Perform all duties in conformance with applicable university policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.
Report directly to the Vice President for Student Affairs.
Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of designated information.
Responsible for the training of assigned staff within the area of budget responsibility.
Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite with emphasis on Excel.
