The Senior Safety Technician must interact with all laboratory personnel in all laboratories throughout the Einstein Campus.
Pick up chemicals, bio-hazardsand radioactive wastes.
Manage waste storage rooms; keep clean and organized.
Consolidate chemicals and waste oils.
Consolidate, compact, store and dispose of radioactive waste.
Insure that waste manifests are filled out correctly.
Manage the college's chemical inventory for the DEP Right-to-know (SARA Title III) report
Conduct contamination wipes and radiation surveys.
Prepare Geiger Counters for calibration and shipping.
Respond to hazardous emergency spills and clean up.
Provide safety clearance to labs and equipment.
Assist Safety Officers with related duties.
Assist with compiling the hazardous chemical inventory
Submitting SARA Title III to DEP
Assist with monthly fire extinguisher inspections
Emergency Response availability.
Conduct other duties as assigned.
