COMMUNICATIONS, POLICY, AND RESEARCH (CPR) ASSOCIATE , Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) , to assume a multifaceted position, serving as CPR to the Global Executive Director, Iqbal Dhaliwal and contributing to J-PAL's mission of promoting evidence-informed policy. The primary responsibility will be to provide substantive support to the executive director, including working with a variety of teams at J-PAL's Global office and with its regional offices. May also participate in additional sector-specific or functional teams within the Policy and Communications team depending on interest and experience. Will provide dedicated support to the executive director by writing communications and policy outreach materials, preparing the material the executive director needs to engage strategically at speaking engagements and meetings, providing fund-raising support, and conducting and organizing desk research from a variety of inputs.
REQUIRED : a bachelor's degree (master's preferred) that includes coursework in international development and/or public policy; two years of relevant work experience; comfort learning computer applications, including Salesforce; attention to detail; strong writing and strategic thinking skills; understanding of and ability to communicate policy lessons from technical academic research in ways that policymakers and practitioners can understand; self-motivation; and the ability to handle multiple projects at once with little supervision, meet deadlines, and effectively manage time as well as others.
