The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), at the University of Minnesota is recruiting a full-time physicatrist specializing in brain injury medicine (BIM). We are seeking a dynamic and energetic professional who desires to be part of the University of Minnesota Health Fairview (M Health Fairview) multi-disciplinary, patient-centered, concussion program.
Job Duties/Responsibilities: â— Work with the Rehabilitation Medicine Concussion/BIM program director, neuroscience service line, and providers within the M Health Concussion/BIM program to forge partnerships, establish trust, and build strong relationships with referring departments and units to maintain and strengthen the program. â— Outpatient clinical practice. â— Inpatient consultation coverage at the University of Minnesota Medical Center (UMMC)-East Bank and West Bank, as well as other affiliated sites. â— Coverage at M Health Fairview Acute Rehabilitation Center (ARC) as part of the call pool ad coverage for vacations. â— Working with APP’s and trainees (medical students, residents, fellows, visiting students, and other allied health professionals) in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited physical medicine & rehabilitation (PM&R) residency training program; be board-certified or board eligible with the American Board of PM&R (ABPM&R) in PM&R and BIM; be eligible to obtain a Minnesota Board of Medical Practice license; and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges. Applicants must possess the leadership skills to manage change and communicate effectively in a rapidly expanding department. Enthusiasm, a collaborative nature, and an interest in cultivating a thriving academic medical spine practice are essential to the success of the department and M Health Fairview’s Spine Program.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience collaborating with individuals across multiple departments, practices, and health systems.
