*THE HORMEL INSTITUTE IS LOCATED IN AUSTIN, MN, APPROXIMATELY 35 MILES SOUTHWEST OF ROCHESTER, MN, AND APPROXIMATELY 100 MILES SOUTH OF MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL.*
This position, as a member of the Research Support Services (RSS) group, will operate as part of a team that pools expertise in multiple areas to support the wide array of services and platforms needed for normal operation of The Hormel Institute. The successful candidate will provide desktop, network support, and provide expertise with user support issues. This support will include software installations and management. The successful candidate will assist with printer support and remote collaboration software. Candidate will possess expertise in several (4 or more) of these areas. Investment and talent development are key drivers of The Hormel Institute.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
40% Provide desktop support to end users
Install and manage software titles and configuration, e.g. Outlook, Box, Google Drive, etc
Manage OS updates for windows (desktop and server), mac and linux systems
Manage vendor warranty access
Utilize centralized tools for management: Configuration Manager, JAMF, puppet, etc
25% Printer management, network and WIFI connectivity.
Install printer drivers
Control access and monitor for accountability
25% Manage core infrastructure systems for authentication and security.
Manage environmental monitoring systems
Manage security monitoring systems
10% Documentation and instruction for users and other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
BA/BS degree in a field related to the position and two years of related work experience in a system support and problem resolution; Or combination of related education and related work experience to equal six years

Experience with managing users using Active Directory.
Managing windows software installations.
Experience with Zoom, Skype, Teams or other Video conferencing platforms.
Experience with Windows Powershell
Experience with Windows Group Policy and troubleshooting
Experience with Windows Configuration Manager
Experience with Mac OS software, printer management, and updates
Experience with MAC JAMF system management
