We have an immediate opening for an entry-level IT Help Desk Coordinator based on our Rindge, NH campus.
The Help Desk Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordinating help desk services and providing front-line support to students, faculty, staff, and other constituents at Rindge and our other campuses. The Help Desk Coordinator is responsible for the intake and deployment of computers to the desktop support staff from inventory.
The Help Desk Coordinator is responsible for:
Bringing newly purchased inventory into stock and filling requests by Desktop Support technicians for computers to be prepared for deployment.
The Help Desk Coordinator is responsible for applying images to newly purchased computers.
Provides front-line technical support services including ticket creation, password resets, and admin account entry for software installs, for all Franklin Pierce University technology resources.
Provides help desk services including phone, email, and walk-in support.
Assists with the management of the help desk ticketing system including information inquiry and assignment of tickets.
Assists with managing the incoming and outgoing inventory from IT stock.
Works collaboratively with other IT staff to prioritize and assign responsibility for requests.
Identifies and refers requests requiring urgent attention.
Administers help desk software including configuration, upgrades, and enhancements.
Recommends and implements solutions and procedures for anticipated or recurring issues.
Assists with configuration and deployment of computers, mobile devices, software, printers, and other user-based technology resources.
Maintains user account profiles and password change procedures.
Contributes to and maintains user/IT knowledge-base of common issues and solutions.
Assists in developing operational documentation and training material.
Assists the Administrative Assistant in maintaining computer and software inventory.
Maintains the process to dispose of computer equipment in a secure and ecologically-friendly manner.
Recommends purchase of supplies and equipment.
Skills and Qualifications:
A minimum of an Associate degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience is required.
A minimum of two years of experience providing help desk services to a diversified user population, preferably in a higher education environment.
Mastery knowledge of Microsoft Office software, (specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook) and the Windows operating systems.
Working knowledge of Macintosh systems and basic network infrastructure and security.
Possess a valid driver’s license.
