NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing is seeking a qualified, part-time professional to be an interventionist for our clinical study looking to improve oral health among persons with mild dementia.
The interventionist will work alongside a study coordinator and dental hygienist approximately 6 hours a week. This position will report to Dr. Bei Wu, PI, and is initially through March 2, 2023.
Care partner assisted intervention to improve oral health of individuals with mild dementia
Attending in-home and/or clinic visits for participants throughout New York City.
Administrating required documents and questionnaires to participants and their care partners.
Delivering an intervention to persons with mild dementia and their care partners.
Important: The in-home visit schedule will not be consistent. Candidates will be expected to be flexible. Specific days/times of the site visits are determined 2-3 weeks in advance depending on schedule availability of participants. Applicants must have availability Monday – Friday between 9am -5pm. There may be occasional Saturdays and/or evenings. This role requires travel to home visits sites throughout New York City and is not remote.
Direct interpersonal interactions with geriatric patients, especially those with dementia.
Background in Nursing, Social Work or other social service-related fields OR Certification (Ex. CNA, EMT)
