Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Project & Program Manager
Utica College, a small comprehensive college in Upstate New York, is seeking applications for a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Project & Program Manager to be responsible for leading, managing, and coordinating diversity, equity, and inclusion projects and programming efforts throughout the Utica College community. The Project & Program Manager ensures that DE&I programs are conceived and executed with appropriate attention to details for successful planning and execution. The incumbent collaborates with internal departments, student clubs and organizations, and external entities to rollout programs and initiatives that support successful achievement of the DE&I Operational Plan in concert with the Utica Colleges Strategic Goals. The DE&I Project & Program Manager reports directly to the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion/Student Transitions/Chief Diversity Officer and works collaboratively with the Executive Director for DE&I/Coordinator for Community Relations, Executive Director for The Center for Career and Professional Development, as well as the Communications and Engagement Coordinator.

Primary responsibilities include:
• Operates under the supervision of the Vice President of the Division for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion/Student Transitions, and the general supervision of the Executive Director, in the absence of the VP, in performing work that requires engagement with the dimensions of diversity, multiculturalism, equity, and inclusion competencies, as prescribed in our DE&I Operational Plan and the College’s Strategic Plan. • Demonstrates experiences specific to the development and implementation of services, programs, and initiatives that facilitate academic success and retention of culturally diverse, marginalized and under-served academically vulnerable students. • Develops and supports programs, activities, and initiatives throughout the campus to enhance cultural literacy and understanding of multiple cultural perspectives so that exposure of such would help faculty, students, and staff see the world beyond their own. • Works in conjunction with the Strategic Advisory Committee for Diversity, Equity, And Inclusion (SACDEI), the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion collaborative, deans, department heads, affinity groups, clubs and organizations, both on and off campus to provide strategic and operational leadership on development and implementation of DE&I related programing for the Utica College Community. • Works collaboratively to provide leadership to Inter-Greek council, Student Government Association, President’s student cabinet for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Student Learning and College Engagement (SLCE), Utica College Programing Board, student clubs and organizations and advisors, Center for Career and Professional Development. • Measures impact of Utica College Community DE&I programs and events developed and or supported by the office for Diversity Equity, and Inclusion and Student Transitions using quantitative/qualitative methodology and instrumentation tactics. • Develops, supports and promotes transformative educational programming and initiatives that center social justice and critical thought which will tie directly into and drive the College’s strategic plan, the diversity action plan and core values. • Develops, supports and promotes trainings, community critical dialogue forums and resources for faculty and staff in order to cultivate an inclusive and equitable culture. • Leads and manages projects with intentions of alignment towards the DE&I Operational Plan and Utica College Strategic Plan. • Evaluates programming, assesses and responds to evolving needs for improvement. Provides semester and end of year data and assessment of project to Vice President for the DE&I Division reports that highlight program accomplishments, challenges and opportunities. • Serves as liaison/advisor to the Womyn’s Resource Center. • Maintains positive, trust-based relationships with a range of community stakeholders. • Works with supervisor to develop specific goals that support Utica College’s operational plans. This is done at least annually through the annual performance evaluation process, however review of goals will occur throughout the year. • Responsible for working with supervisor and other team members to achieve successful results on all established individual and departmental goals and key performance indicators. • May perform other related duties as assigned.
•Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent post-secondary experience. • 3+ years of experience leading large-scale projects; successful teaming with colleagues, and outcome-based results orientation approach. • 5+ years of project and program management skills. • Experience developing solutions that positively impact diversity, equity and inclusion. • Experience translating metrics, research, and trends into strategy and improvement opportunities.
