Germanna Community College is centrally located in Fredericksburg, VA between Washington D.C. and Richmond and between the Blue Ridge mountains and the Chesapeake Bay. Germanna Community College is seeking an innovative and collaborative individual to join the faculty as an Instructor/Assistant Professor of Biology - Anatomy & Physiology. The successful candidate will teach all levels of anatomy and physiology, with a minimum teaching load of 27 credits per academic year (three courses each semester). The position may require teaching both day and evening courses at any college location, as well as online courses. The College desires applicants with a commitment to the community college mission; teaching, learning, and student success; integration of learning outcomes assessment into course development and teaching; use of current and emerging technologies to enhance instruction; and integration of global perspectives in instruction. Finalists will be invited to present a short sample lesson. This is a nine-month, full-time faculty position. Salary is commensurate with rank and credentials plus State benefits. Appointment date: August 16, 2021. Position will be filled contingent upon available funding. The College desires applicants with a commitment to the community college mission; teaching, learning, and student success; integration of learning outcomes assessment into course development and teaching; use of current and emerging technologies to enhance instruction; and integration of global perspectives in instruction.
