The Certified Medical Assistant checks patients in and schedules patient appointments in the IDX system. Prepares patient for office visits by taking medical history, discussing the chief complaint, obtaining weight, blood pressure, and pulse and documenting findings in the EMR system. Also prepares exam rooms for patients and assists physicians with patient care. Responsible for processing new patient chart in EMR system and prepares patient charts for the following day. Also responsible for maintaining office and medical supply inventory and stocking exam rooms.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation of a post-secondary medical assisting education program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Current certification from the Certifying Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or registration from the American Medical Technologists (AMT), or the National Center for Competency Training (NCCT), or any recognized certifying body approved by the Board.
Minimum of one (1) year of related experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
Knowledge of computers is required. Knowledge of the IDX system is preferred.
Experience working with electronic medical record systems is required.
Will be required to open and close medical offices as needed.
Must also be available to work evenings as needed.
The ideal candidate is able to work independently, possess excellent communication and organization skills, and must be flexible.
Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time.
Must be able to manipulate medical equipment and supplies.
Must be able to communicate well with internal and external customers, often under stressful circumstances.
