Reporting to the Dean of Allied Health & Nursing, the Instructor is responsible to apply their expertise to develop and deliver courses/programs so that students learn and reach their academic goals. The instructor actively participates in departmental meetings and activities, in student recruitment for their courses/program, and in support of the general development of students and the College. Responsibilities:
Curriculum and teaching materials development.
Assessment activities at the instructor, course, department, and Institutional level.
Participation in program, division and college initiatives through committee work and inter-departmental collaboration.
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science.
Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a medical laboratory technologist/scientist.
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Medical Laboratory Technologist/Scientist certification by one of the following: American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), AAB Board of Registry (ABOR), or American Medical Technologists (AMT).
Current clinical experience in an acute care hospital.
