Category Analyst - Procurement, Contracting, and Payment Services 16116
The Department of Procurement, Contracting, and Payment Services at West Virginia University is seeking applications for a Category Analyst. Primary roles of the Category Analyst include supporting development of strategic sourcing category / commodity strategies, assisting in execution against those strategies, and ensuring that assigned staff properly manage commodities and support stakeholder / supplier requests. Analyst will effectively partner with the Category Manager to ensure that the greatest value is realized for them spend.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
1. Support strategic sourcing efforts for assigned category / commodity areas
Assist in sourcing efforts beginning with spend analysis through contract execution.
Identify and lead sourcing and procurement process improvement efforts.
Correctly apply Strategic Sourcing best practice processes.
Assess opportunities, set and assist Category Manager in category / commodity strategies.
Prepare business case, cost/benefit and benefit realization analyses.
Analyze, document and create complex category and commodity operational/financial data.
Bachelors' degree required in Finance, Supply Chain, or similar related field.
Six (6) months experience in procurement, supply chain, or related field of expertise.
Understands, adheres to, and ensures correct application of company's supplier diversity program requirements.
Understands and correctly applies total cost of ownership (TCO) principles.
Knowledge of industry leading Procure to Pay (P2P) process.
Can apply knowledge of demand management and use appropriately within a P2P environment (e.g., inventory management and order timing).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
ISM or similar certification desired.
