The George Mason University Department of Communication invites applications for possible part-time Adjunct Faculty vacancies, beginning Fall 2016, with expertise in the following areas:
Multimedia Web design;
Adobe CS or Creative Cloud;
Apple Final Cut Pro 7 and/or X;
Multicamera studio production; and
Instructs students in a classroom, lab, learning center or other setting as appropriate;
Provides student contact before or after class, or via telephone, e-mail exchanges or office hours where facilities and schedules permit;
Prepares, distributes and utilizes instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media and other devices as appropriate;
Incorporates the latest classroom technology when available and appropriate into instructional activities;
Structures classes and curriculum to correspond with the overall program objectives, prepares clear objectives for students in each course, and maintains and revises curriculum to maintain currency;
Understands, develops and provides a learning environment that supports diversity and incorporates sensitivity to diversity within the college community;
Responsible for classroom, laboratory and departmental equipment, and provides for the security of facilities and instructional materials as appropriate;
May direct aides and Federal Work-Study students as assigned;
Understands and uses the university's Blackboard system;
Demonstrates competence and interest in the use of technology in the classroom; and
Maintains a willingness to explore new instructional methodologies.
Master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in communication, multimedia, or journalism. Equivalent professional experience will be considered;
Teaching experience; and
Substantial creative services experience.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
