The position requires contributions to early childhood education research in particular ways. You will conduct research on policy analysis, field research, and technical assistance to inform ECE policy and practice. The position requires dissemination of research findings through publications (especially peer-reviewed journal articles), products, and presentations to appropriate audiences, which might include researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and parents. You are expected to author funding proposals as PI or co-PI and to engage on funded projects are already underway. You will act in a supervisory role for undergraduate and graduate student research assistants and junior faculty working on the projects for which you have a lead investigator role. A doctoral degree in a discipline related to Early Childhood Education is required. This position will involve ECE conceptual knowledge and research expertise to design and oversee research, interpret findings, summarize research and interface with elected and appointed state leaders as well as philanthropic partners.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Doctoral degree in early childhood education or related field.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Significant experience in key personnel roles in research projects with capacity for initiating, maintaining, and enhancing research in early childhood education. Excellent writing and editing skills with experience writing grant applications and budgeting grants. Knowledge of pre-k policy and implementation, and of state pre-k, Head Start and child care structures & regulatory requirements. Excellent communication and organization skills. Experience conducting training and/or providing technical assistance.
