The Lupo lab at the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging is looking for a researcher who is interested in an Assistant, Associate or Full Specialist position at UCSF. The role will involve scanning patients and volunteers, transferring and processing imaging data, using image processing and statistical modeling techniques to perform data analyses, and disseminating research findings via publications, seminars and international conferences. Additionally, the candidate will help debug postprocessing scripts utilized by the brain imaging research group and contribute to sequence development efforts of the 7T MRI research group. Senior level positions will also provide support to junior members of these groups and are encouraged to pursue independent 7T research collaborations and funding.
Required Qualifications: • Specialists appointed at the Assistant or Associate ranks must possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) in Biomedical Imaging or related field or at least five years to ten years of research experience. • Specialists appointed at the Full rank must possess a terminal degree (or equivalent degree) or ten or more years of research experience. • Applicants must meet all of the requirements by the time of hire. • Candidate’s CV and/or cover letter must state qualifications (or if pending) upon submission.
Preferred Qualifications: • The candidate should have significant experience and interest in neuroimaging research involving the use of state-of-the-art ultra-high field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). • 2 or more years of recent, directly related work experience following degree completion • Experience in MRI image data processing • Previous exposure to research laboratory environment • Ability to work with diverse team of researchers, scientists, and students • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) • Ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative • Demonstrated record of reliability • Proficiency in MATLAB
