Job Title: Assistant Professor, Educational Leadership

The School of Education at Lindenwood University invites applications for an assistant professor of educational leadership.
Qualified applicants will possess a doctorate in educational administration with specialization in school and district leadership. The successful candidate will be expected to teach 3 courses (9 credit hours) each semester on educational leadership. Successful candidates must show an outstanding record of teaching and program development. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching online and securing and/or managing external funding. All Lindenwood faculty members are expected to advise and mentor students, continue to develop their expertise through research and scholarship, and participate in faculty governance and campus life.
The assistant professor of educational leadership is a full-time, 12-month faculty position that will begin August 2021. Review of applications will begin ASAP and will continue until the position is filled.
Teach a variety of advanced certification courses for EdS and EdD students pursuing a degree in educational administration as well as doctoral courses as needed
Oversee vertical alignment of advanced certification coursework in Ed. Administration
Advise graduate students in the areas of educational administration
Serve as dissertation chair and on dissertation committees
Engage in research and assist faculty with research through interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts stemming from the SOE’s Innovation and Insight Center
Engage in and/or assist with seeking external funding
Work closely with students and faculty in curriculum & instruction, educational leadership, and counseling and social work departments of the School of Education
Provide services to the program, school, university, and profession, as needed
Faculty and instructors are responsible for curriculum, teaching, service, scholarship, and related administrative activities that support the mission, vision, and values of the University.

As professional educators, faculty and instructors must demonstrate command of their subject matter and continuous growth in their subject fields. They must sustain professional contact with colleagues and engage in continuing professional activities to upgrade and augment existing skills or develop new ones. Furthermore, all University faculty and instructors have a responsibility to engage in scholarship or creative activity and to provide service to the professional organizations that contribute to the national and international intellectual communities of which Lindenwood is a part. Scholarship and creative activity are understood to be intellectual work whose significance is validated by peers and which is disseminated to the broader community of the discipline.
