The School of Education at Lindenwood University invites applications for an assistant/associate professor or instructional design.
Qualified applicants will possess a doctorate in instructional design or closely related field with specialization in instructional design. The successful candidate will be expected to teach 4 courses (12 credit hours) each semester on instructional design and e-learning. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching online. All Lindenwood faculty members are expected to advise and mentor students, continue to develop their expertise through research and scholarship, and participate in faculty governance and campus life.
The assistant/associate professor of instructional design is a full-time, 12-month faculty position that will begin August 2021. Review of applications will begin March 1, 2021 and will continue until the position is filled.
The assistant/associate professor of instructional design will be responsible for:
Teaching instructional design and e-Learning courses to undergraduate and graduate level students
Serving as the inaugural program lead by coordinating and facilitating the program's development and evaluation processes
Advising undergraduate and graduate level students in the areas of instructional design and e-learning
Engaging in research (areas of expertise are open)
Assisting the school with professional development for faculty in areas associated with e-learning and instructional design
Working closely with students and faculty for the continuous improvement of curricular and student support efforts
Faculty and instructors are responsible for curriculum, teaching, service, scholarship, and related administrative activities that support the mission, vision, and values of the University.

As professional educators, faculty and instructors must demonstrate command of their subject matter and continuous growth in their subject fields. They must sustain professional contact with colleagues and engage in continuing professional activities to upgrade and augment existing skills or develop new ones. Furthermore, all University faculty and instructors have a responsibility to engage in scholarship or creative activity and to provide service to the professional organizations that contribute to the national and international intellectual communities of which Lindenwood is a part. Scholarship and creative activity are understood to be intellectual work whose significance is validated by peers and which is disseminated to the broader community of the discipline.
Successful applicants must demonstrate an outstanding record of online teaching and program development
Preference will be given to applicants who have experience in designing or redesigning online courses and their respective curriculum
