The Tourtellotte lab studies the role of growth factor and transcription factor signaling in peripheral nervous system target tissue innervation and central nervous system degeneration. We are seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist who will study molecular mechanisms in central neurodegeneration and peripheral autonomic neuropathy. Will work independently on research projects under the supervision of the principal investigator (mentor) and you will be expected to design and conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, troubleshoot experiments, analyze data for publication and grant applications, present research at national and international meetings, and prepare manuscripts for publication. Teaching other research staff, students, and residents may be required.
Must hold a PhD (preferably with expertise in neuroscience, neurobiology, molecular biology or closely related field) and have a passion for translational research using animal models to study molecular mechanisms in development and neurodegeneration
Experience in molecular biology, working with transgenic mice, cell culture, immunocytochemistry, Western blotting and imaging techniques is preferred. Experience working with and generating targeted induced pluripotent stem cells, bulk and single cell RNAseq and proteomic analysis of isolated protein complexes is especially of benefit.
