The WSU campus is located in a very attractive, revitalized, and growing urban setting, surrounded by museums, theaters, and international corporations.Essential FunctionsReporting to the Associate Dean of the School of Information Sciences (SIS), serving as an advisor to SIS students, and providing service to SIS, the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor will perform research and teach in areas related to one or more of the school's degrees and certificates: Master of Library and Information Science, Master of Science in Information Management, Graduate Certificate In Archival Administration, Graduate Certificate in Information Management, Graduate Certificate in Public Library Services to Children and Youth, School Library Media Specialist Endorsement. It is expected that the new faculty member would teach specialized courses and at least one core course from one of the degree programs. Given that the school has been teaching most and recently all of its courses entirely online, the new faculty member is expected to have significant experience in a dynamic online teaching environment.In addition to the degrees and certificates listed above, SIS offers several joint degrees, a robust internship program, a portfolio assessment model for students, and a number of active student/professional groups. The School currently has approximately 450 enrolled students.
