Summary of Duties:
The Principal Assistant position is responsible for performing complex administrative duties in support of the Administrative Professional Advisory Council (APAC) and the Faculty Senate. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to: providing comprehensive administrative support, independently developing travel itineraries, compiling reports and studies, and updating the Committee and Faculty Manual; developing, modifying, and maintaining databases; coordinating and updating websites; monitoring and reporting on APAC budget(s) status; maintaining APAC and Faculty Senate records and/or filing system(s); establishing APAC office procedures, standards, priorities, deadlines, and coordinating office operations. This position initiates actions to ensure APAC and Faculty Senate office goals are met and has frequent contact with internal and external constituents.
A Bachelor's degree in business administration or other relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible management work experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Experience serving as an administrative assistant to a senior management or executive level position.
Knowledge of Dream Weaver, Fireworks, MathType, Filemaker Pro, informed Filler and Business Objects.
Experience preparing and managing budgets.
Experience working in a Higher Education environment.
Experience with Washington State University's policies and procedures.
Monthly Salary: Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience
