The Construction Foreman will oversee renovation and remodeling projects on campus, estimating, budgeting, doing takeoffs, scheduling and coordinating skilled trades. Meet with requestors to determine scope of work and obtain Facilities Management's approval of requested modifications.Develop estimates, plan, schedule, coordinate, control costs, code compliance and ensure timely completion. Supervise internal skilled trades temporarily assigned to the specific construction work, at campus buildings, from the existing work force. The skilled trade's primary responsibility would continue to be maintenance work.
Associates degree relevant to maintenance, electrical or building systems or a related area or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Journeyman’s license in carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and/or related field.
Three years documented work experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with others.
Project management experience and previous supervisory experience managing bargaining unit employees is required.
For the work sample, provide an example of a past project.
Computer literacy and a working knowledge with building plans and specifications.
Experience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and the use of calendar and email systems.
