Performs tasks related to the design, implementation, support/maintenance, and enhancement of NU's enterprise, vendor and in-house developed applications. Consults with users to define detailed requirements, analyze business needs, consider current and future business implications, translate functional into technical requirements, validate solutions, and drive business process improvement efforts.
Serves as subject matter expert in regard to content, processes, and procedures associated for complex technical and functional system. Monitors and mentors other business systems analysts in software development methods and processes and implementation of those methods. Manages complex projects independently.
The Data Analyst Senior leads data management and analysis teams to support the mission of the Department of Medical Social Sciences, which is to integrate biomedical and social science approaches to improve health and healthcare delivery. The Data Analyst Senior will work with faculty to formulate and execute statistical and psychometric plans in a variety of scientific areas, including health measurement science, health promotion and disease prevention, mechanisms of health and disease, and health informatics. The position involves managing and analyzing multiple, complex datasets, ensuring data integrity and security, and writing reports/manuscripts. The Data Analyst Senior will advise principal investigators and other project team members on research design, sampling, and conduct a variety of analyses, such as power analyses, longitudinal data analyses, and other advanced analyses (e.g., latent variable modelling). The Data Analyst Senior will also work with NUCORE leadership to write analysis plans and to staff projects appropriately. Job responsibilities include collaborations with IT personnel to improve IT infrastructure or tools that perform psychometric or scoring functions of patient-centered outcome instruments. The position comprises supervision and development of junior analysts, project management, team work, and developing professional relationships with NU faculty, industry contracts, and collaborators at other institutions.
Consults with junior analysts, end users and peers to document and analyze functional requirements, identify gaps and alternative approaches to meet Contributes to defining methodology and documentation standards, and periodically reviewing them to integrate appropriate industry practices.
Acts as a subject matter expert, reviewing and verifying that documentation of training materials, process, procedure and system/application configuration is accurate.
Documents implementation scope and complex use cases.
Coordinates project resources to ensure that tasks are completed on schedule and that issues, risks and variances are identified and escalated in a timely manner
Evaluates software and enters complex configurations to meet user needs.
Provides work direction and/or supervises staff such as subordinates, contractors, vendors, students, etc.
Recommends staff hires/terminations. May provide input into position descriptions; participates in recruiting process.
Coaches and mentors junior staff.
Manages moderate to complex projects ensuring timelines, deliverables and expectations are met.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as computer science, information technology, or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
4 years functional/business/system analysis or other relevant experience required.

MS in Statistics/Biostatistics and seven years’ experience in biostatistical data analysis and data management.
Substantial number of peer-reviewed co-authored publications.
Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)
Knowledge of advanced statistical methods such as longitudinal data modeling, techniques for missing data handling, survival analysis, or item response theory.
