*Purpose*: Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) seeks an energetic Administrative Assistant with excellent communications, customer service, and student financial aid experience. *Duties and Responsibilities*: The Administrative Assistant will greet and be the first point of contact for everyone who enters the Financial Aid Office. Resolve routine financial aid questions in-person, by phone, and email. Be well organized, detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment. *Specific responsibilities and functions include but are not limited to*: * Responding to request for financial aid information timely and accurately. * Provides informative general financial aid advising required by Federal, state, and institutional aid programs. * Excellent customer service to students, colleagues in the Financial Aid Office and throughout the college, administration, high schools, VCCS and other community members. * Student outreach to complete delinquent documentation. * Administrative functions, tracking and processing paperwork relative to student files. * Attend Super Saturday events, Admissions nights and variety of campus and department events as needed.
Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Student financial aid experience. Strong attention to detail, organizational and math skills. Demonstrate ability to work under pressure and multi-task. Demonstrated ability to analyze information. Able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a diverse population of students, parents, faculty, and administrators. Must be able to work flexible hours to include occasional evenings and weekends. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
