Utilizes a genetically modified mouse models to understand the role of mitochondrial signaling mechanisms in various diseases. Findings will be used to design novel therapeutic agents to treat human diseases. This includes the use of genetically modified cardiomyocytes and neurons derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells.
