General Statement of Duties
Mount Wachusett Community College seeks a full time Clinical Coordinator for all nursing programs including CNA, PN, ADN and LPN-ADN. The Clinical Coordinator helps to promote student success by ensuring appropriate and meaningful clinical placements for students.
The Clinical Coordinator works with the Director of Nursing to develop new clinical placements and support existing clinical placements for students. The Clinical Coordinator assists in the recruitment and hiring of adjunct faculty and assists with the clinical assignments of faculty each semester. The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for maintaining all contracts being utilized for clinical practice and ensuring that all students and faculty have met the requirements set forth by each clinical agency being utilized. The Clinical Coordinator will possess excellent writing and communication skills, academic credentials, and technological proficiency. This Clinical Coordinator will provide support to the Gardner, Leominster, and Devens campuses as well as online as needed.
Works with Director of Nursing in the oversight of faculty clinical assignments, clinical agencies and student placements;
Assists in the assessment of need for recruitment and hiring of adjunct nursing and CNA faculty;
Coordinates the orientation of adjunct faculty, assuring that appropriate documentation is collected, distributed and maintained;
Assists in the organization and maintenance of data on current students, former students, and graduates;
Determines that all students and faculty have met the requirements of clinical agencies per passport, specifically CPR, immunizations, submission of CORI/SORI forms, physical exams and other agency requirements;
Maintains all contracts with agencies being utilized for clinical practice;
Makes periodic visits to clinical sites to provide adjunct faculty support;
In conjunction with the Director of Nursing, seeks out new clinical sites as needed;
Works in coordination with all administrative personnel to assure that all clinical agencies receive the required school and student documentation in a timely manner;
Acts as a liaison for clinical/lab placement, to include issues surrounding facility, contract, and student orientation.
Assists in the coordination of faculty and student site evaluations, including distribution of faculty's clinical packets at the start of each clinical rotation and the collection of the data at the completion of each clinical rotation;
Assists in maintaining compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies including BORN and ACEN;
Assist with annual regulatory and accreditation reports as needed;
Participates in college service activities where appropriate;
Serves on college and or ancillary advisory boards as appropriate; and
Attends other meetings and college-wide committees as necessary including, but not limited to:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other field related to area of assignment;
Three (3) years experience and/or training involving area of assignment, which may include college registration, academic advisement, career development, career experience, training, curriculum development, audio/visual or graphic production, grant administration, budget development, program/project management, event planning, administrative work in an academic environment, or personal computer operations; or
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Three years healthcare experience;
Experience working with first generation, undeserved, and international students;
Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to multi-task and work with frequent interruptions;
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license in order to make clinical site visits as needed; and
Computer knowledge (e.g., Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel).
