Under the supervision of the Nurse Practitioner/Clinical Coordinator, the case worker will work with the study team and is responsible for facilitating research participants' progress throughout the duration of the study by assessing each participant's needs for medical care, HIV infection antiviral therapy (ART), Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), and medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) services; Evaluating treatment options; Creating treatment plans; Coordinating referrals for care; And gauging progress. The case worker is further responsible for overseeing and managing peer navigators as they assist participants move through the referral process and other job-related responsibilities.
Conduct initial assessment of needs and support system for each study participant, to create individualized plans for medical care and recovery-oriented support services. (15%)
Manage peer navigators' caseloads. Assist and oversee study participants' access to health care services, including but not limited to: HIV infection antiviral therapy (ART), Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), and medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD)/substance abuse. (30%)
Ensure all required documentation is in place with the referral and study processes and maintain participants' records/files, ensuring data points/elements are captured in the study per protocol. (10%)
Develop, oversee and monitor the efficacy of comprehensive, individualized service plans and coordination of the services required for implementation of plan for participants. (10%)
Oversee enrollment of participants into insurance programs and refer appropriately into other programs as needed. Ensure that all participant entitlements are in place, including Medicaid and HASA referrals. (10%)
Manage study visit scheduling of participants. (5%)
Conduct informed consent interviews for study participation. (5%)
Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations. (5%)
Work flexible hours, as needed. (5%)
Perform other duties as assigned. (5%)
Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in education and experience, and at least two years of related experience are required.

Previous experience in research studies
Prior experience as a clinical research or medical case worker
Local travel to and from healthcare and community-based organizations may be required.
