Job Description Summary: The School of Communications at Webster University invites applications for a visiting faculty position in film, television, and video production with teaching duties primarily in post-production, editing, motion graphics, or visual effects. We are searching for a new colleague whose background, experience, and areas of expertise complement our existing strengths and add diversity to our faculty. Candidates with experience in XR (augmented and virtual reality) and those able to bridge with our programs in animation, game design, or interactive media are of particular interest. This renewable visiting position has potential to become a tenure-track faculty line.
Minimum Qualifications A masters degree, professional experience, teaching experience, and evidence of potential for academic career success are required; the MFA or PhD is preferred. The successful candidate will have broad knowledge of the field, an area of specialization, mastery of the technical requirements within the specialization, and have expertise, experience, and background that complements that of existing faculty members. Essential Duties The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses and advise students in Film, Television, Video Production, and related areas, provide faculty service, and engage in professional development, including scholarship and creative activity.
