The Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi is inviting applications for a fully-funded postdoctoral associate position in Dr. Jocelyn Bélanger's laboratory.
The position requires involvement in cross-sectional, longitudinal and experimental studies examining the dualistic model of passion, ideological obsession, violent extremism, and radicalization. Research projects will focus on understanding what motivates people to join violent ideological groups and engage in acts of cruelty against others; the different trajectories leading individuals to support ideologically motivated violence and developing strategies to mitigate support for political violence.
1) candidates must hold (or be close to completing) a Ph.D. in social psychology, or a related field.
2) demonstrated ability to implement and interpret advanced statistics
3) excellent writing skills.
Preference will be given to candidates with a strong publication record.
