The VIDA Lab for Visualization, Imaging and Data Analytics at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Post-doctoral Position in Data Mining and Machine Learning at NYU.

The Visualization, Imaging and Data Analysis (VIDA) Center has an opening for a post-doctoral associate to conduct innovative and exciting research in the area of machine learning and data mining, with applications to public health. The position is available immediately but the start date is flexible.
-PhD in computer science or a related technical field
-Publication record in top data mining / machine learning venue(s).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse interdisciplinary team, and contribute to an active intellectual environment
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Desire to work with health-related data sets and topics
Expertise in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:
- Deep learning
- Statistics/probability and machine learning
The candidate is expected to:
- Perform excellent scientific research
- Present results in top-tier international conferences
- Help in guiding PhD and Master students
- Participate in the VIDA and NYU Center for Data Sciences activities
