POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE , Plasma Science and Fusion Cente r (PSFC), to work in the area of experimental plasma physics and fusion energy research. The research focuses on the area of turbulence and transport, with emphasis on turbulence diagnostics, including radiometry and reflectometry. Will design and lead experiments at ASDEX Upgrade and other tokamaks and participate in validation and integrated modeling efforts that are an ongoing research thrust in the PSFC program. Will be expected to make original research contributions to the PSFC program, produce work for publication, and present work at scientific conferences.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : a Ph.D. in plasma physics or closely related science or engineering discipline at the time of appointment; experience working with fusion plasma diagnostics (development, operation, and data analysis); excellent communication skills; and the willingness to work as part of a large team alongside undergraduate and graduate students and project scientists. PREFERRED : experience with ECE profile/fluctuation and/or reflectometer profile/fluctuation measurements and with turbulence and transport modeling. Job #19227
