The University of Saint Joseph Department of Nursing is seeking to hire a Clinical Educator Staff member who will report to the Undergraduate and Accelerated Second Degree Program Director. This is a full-time, 12-month position with the following expectations:
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Lead three to four clinical days per week at external clinical sites to support pre-licensure clinical academic courses.
Collaborate with course faculty and the Director of the Nursing Learning Center to fulfill clinical support and educational needs in the Nursing Learning Center.
Collaborate with clinical course faculty and Director of the Nursing Learning Center to fulfill simulation program outcomes
Collaborate with Undergraduate and Accelerated Second Degree Program Director to assist with teaching needs in the prelicensure courses.
Master's degree in Nursing
Current Connecticut RN license (valid as of date of hire);
Four or more years of recent clinical experience in an acute care setting
Two or more years of experience teaching undergraduate students in clinical settings such as acute and skilled care facilities, community settings, pediatric care institutions including schools and/or behavioral health clinical settings
Experience evaluating student performance in clinical training settings
Experience managing and directing group clinical training for students in baccalaureate nursing programs
Experience developing effective working relationships with hospitals, clinics, and other community partners
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal relationship strategies
Cultural competency to work with diverse student and/or employee population
Commitment to the mission of the University of Saint Joseph
Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Experience working with students in an accelerated nursing entry program
Previous classroom teaching experience in an institution of higher education
Current experience with direct patient care in clinical settings such as acute and skilled care facilities, community settings, pediatric care institutions including schools and/or behavioral health clinical settings
Experience with a wide-range of educational strategies, including virtual and in-person simulation
Experience with telehealth technologies
This is a 12-month, non-tenure-track position subject to annual review.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
